Ascend

The techniques employed in Ascend exemplify the beauty and harmony that can exist between those with significant differences through the juxtaposition of two opposing materials: black carbon and gold leaf. This representation of light and dark was brought to life between a variety of materials as unique as those that helped create them. These works represent the hard work, democratic ideation, and collaboration of over twenty individuals from different cultural, religious, and political backgrounds. Without even one of these voices, this work would have never been made possible.
